Lana was raised in northern California. She always knew she wanted to take care of people and had her sights set on becoming a nurse from the time she was 14 years old. She met her husband in high school and married him a week after she graduated from nursing school in 1992. A few years later she went back to school to get her Bachelor’s degree from the same college, Pacific Union College. In 2006, her and her husband moved here to Idaho for a calmer way of life and to raise their two young girls in “the country.” While working in the operating room at Kootenai Medical Center, she felt a calling to teach patients about health so they would have an opportunity to make lifestyle changes prior to surgery. She graduated from Washington State University in 2012 and became board-certified as a Family Nurse Practitioner. She has been working for the past 10 years in family practice and urgent care in Rathdrum and the Sandpoint communities. In December of 2021 she felt compelled to open her own practice to be able to care for patients in a way that provides quality care in a relaxed setting.
When Lana is not working she enjoys outdoor activities with her family such as swimming, biking, hiking, snow shoeing, kayaking, paddleboarding, and camping. She also loves gardening, doing arts and crafts, sewing, painting, cooking, and wood working in her “spare time.”
